Scents for Summer - Floral

Four Scents Team

What symbolises summer like the optimistic, exotic fragrances from the Floral family?

Four Scents takes a dive into the world of perfumery and simplifies it – so everyone can be a connoisseur! Perfumes are divided into “accords”. In other words, these are families of fragrances that are grouped together, making it easier to identify the perfumes you are drawn to. We’ll focus on one accord for each season…

What Fragrances Feature?

Floral notes range from sweet to spicy:

Fruity: Bright, sweet and juicy, e.g. Raspberry.

Floral: Clean, bright, refreshing, e.g. Fresh-cut flowers.

Soft Floral: Powdery, sweet, e.g. Peony.

Floral Amber: Warm, spicy, resinous, e.g. Neroli.

Fragrances from the floral family can feature either as the first scent or the heart of a perfume. As the scent evolves, the lighter notes give way to the florals. These tend to last for a medium amount of time but layering them as top and middle notes can increase their longevity.

Are Floral Fragrances For Me?

All fragrance groups lean towards particular personality types, suggests aromatherapist Valerie Ann Wormwood in her book, The Fragrant Mind. Obviously because we’re all unique, we’re not going to fall neatly into categories, so it’s to be viewed more as a guide.

It’s no surprise that Floral personalities are described as romantics! Self-assured, they are charming and popular and will use their winsome personality to achieve their goals. Despite this, they do worry about their appearance and how they are perceived by others. Competitive by nature, Floral types are successful with an in-built need for reward, particularly in terms of admiration. They have a very aesthetic nature, loving to fill their homes with candles, music, plants and scents.

Floral fragrances are for you not just if you resonate with the personality profile, but if you are after a scent that is romantic, powerful and exotic.

Four Scents Floral Picks

We choose our floral favourites…

Naila

Four-Scents-Botanical-Naila-Perfume-a-floral-fragrance

Naila is a floral explosion of contrasts, forming a powdery expression of femininity. This radiant fragrance unveils the multifaceted nature of modern womanhood, blending the pastel romanticism of peony with a double dose of vanilla for a warm, sensual embrace.

The scent opens with a lively burst of pink pepper and citrus, creating a sparkling, spicy first impression. Naila blooms at its heart with a refined bouquet of rose, peony, and delicate florals. The rose brings a timeless, velvety richness, while peony adds a soft, airy elegance. Its signature lies in its exquisite floral and vanilla amber accords, blending radiant florals with the smooth, enveloping warmth of vanilla and musk.

Yasmin

Yasmin’s fruity and vanilla accords create a luxurious contrastplayful yet seductive, vibrant yet smooth. The dark fruits provide a luscious intensity, while the vanilla softens and rounds out the scent, making it irresistibly elegant.

Yasmin opens with a bold burst of black cherry, offering a rich, dark sweetness balanced by the intriguing sharpness of bitter almond. Yasmin blossoms at its centre into a rich bouquet of plum, Turkish rose, and jasmine. The plum adds a velvety, succulent richness, while Turkish rose lends an opulent, romantic depth. The scent deepens into a creamy, comforting base of vanilla and tonka bean, wrapping the fragrance in a warm, indulgent finish. The vanilla adds smoothness, while tonka bean brings a subtle hint of spice and smokiness.
